THE UNITED NATIONS CONFLICT RHIZOMATRIX
Inspired by the branching geometries of Mangrove trees and the Rhizomatic qualities of the forests they inhabit, The United Nations Conflict Rhizomatrix provides a forum for the discussion and resolution of conflict and political strife in the Indian Ocean region.
In place of politically charged proposals for a crossing between Male & Hulhumale, a low impact floating bridge provides a new source of renewable energy for both islands whilst, purifying water collected by the buildings dynamic roof. Removed Coral is reconstituted and reinforced with coconut fibre to form a material used on the exterior façades.
