modular biorock mosque
With the population density within the “heart” of the Maldives increasing, the need for importing cement for infrastructure is growing. My project is formed around the idea of using Biorock technology to prototype different building components within a typology of a mosque. The agenda for basing the prototype building components around a mosque arises from the significance of a mosque as a building for locals around the Maldives.
My proposal is located in two different sites with the growing field for the Biorock components located in the industrial island of Thilafushi, whilst the Mosque is located in Malé.
